Each year, on the 1st of January of each year new works fall in the public domain when copyright of authors who have been dead for over 70 years expires. This year, Public Domain Day celebrated that the works of Swedish composer Wilhelm Peterson-Berger and Finnish playwright Artturi Järviluoma can now be freely re-used by all. You can find more information about these authors on their wiki pages (click on the names above). Some scores by Peterson-Berger are available via the International Music Score Library Project.

ECLAP has some great Public Domain content as well; the Escola Superior de Música, Artes e Espectáculo do Porto (ESMAE) has contributed PDFs of the magazine La Ilustración Musical (1883-1884). You can find an example here.
