How to get involved?

You can be involved at different levels: as simple registered user and/or as an affiliated partner. The registered users are single people and experts that are interested in the performing arts. They can provide their content and collaborate with the others via the working groups. Each Registered user may subscribe to a number of working groups, during the registration and after. In some cases, the acceptance of the subscription to a group is subjected by the approval of the group coordinator.

Can I get registered?

see the registration page, it is free of charge!!

Can I post my generated content, UGC?

please read Upload and Ingest. The upload for simple registered user is moderated in the sense that the content provided has to be accepted by the Group coordinator(s) at which the content has been proposed. You can provide and propose your content to multiple groups.

Which kind of content I can upload?

performing arts content as described by the classification. It can be in any file format, any video, format, any audio format, zip, doc, epub, crossmedia, multimedia, etc.. any Format !!!! Other details can be recovered from the page of Upload and Ingest and from the ECLAP User Manual

Which kind of support ECLAP provides for respecting Intellectual property?

please see the Terms of Use. ECLAP provides an IPR model and tool (called IPR wizard) to support Content Providers in setting up their IPR model identifying permissions and restrictions. Moreover, the control applied is based on a conditional access. Particular attention is devoted to the content usage for educational users. Details on tools are provided in the ECLAP user manual. Students and researchers and thus educational users have a particular set of access rights.

Upload and Update content and media

How it is possible to upload a content file?

Answer to this question can be recovered from the Upload Content and Metadata Ingestion page. The Edit Object functionality/action allows you to: edit metadata, upload/update the object icon/thumbnail, update the digital file, upload a new version of the digital file, update/change the classification assigned to your content, etc.

How it can be updated once uploaded ?

You have to play an object and to go in the block "Actions" on the right and select "Edit Object". In alternative, from any list of objects you can directly see in the Actions menu' of your content the same "Edit Object" selection. The "Edit Object" is present only if you are the owner of that object, for example if you have uploaded it. The Edit Object functionality/action allows you to: edit metadata, upload/update the object icon/thumbnail, update the digital file, upload a new version of the digital file, update/change the classification assigned to your content, etc.

Promote your content

How it is possible to promote (make featured) content?
Only Group Coordinators may promote the content. Each of them has a maximum number of content to be promoted, to put in the featured. The list of featured content proposed in the frontal page is produced by taking a random selection of the content featured from the groups/channels coordinators. If you are a group coordinator, then you can find the "Mark as Featured" into the Actions of the content, in the lists and in the Actions Block on the right, when you play the object.

IPR Management

I have uploaded a file and now I have realized, to have not done it correctly. I would like to delete it. How can we do that?

If the file is only the wrong one, or the metadata are not correct or the icon is not good, then YOU can change them via the Action on your content called Edit Object, selecting the object update for changing the file, icon update for the icon and/or the metadata editor to change the metadata.

I have uploaded a file and now I would like to delete it. How can we do that?
To delete the object you have to send and email  to the organization at info@eclap.eu, providing the link of the object you would like to delete. Please read the Terms of Use

I need to be IPR manager for my affiliation: how can I do that?
You have to be an ECLAP partner (contract or affiliated). If you are an affiliated partner and you have a distribution channel/group, you can ask to your group/channel coordinator to ask to info@eclap.eu to become an IPR Manager for your channel/group affiliation.

I would like to change the IPR from Public Domain to private or viceversa.
This operation can be performed by using the IPR Wizard on your object. To this end, you have to take the Action "Edit Object" for your object and click on the IPR wizard in the Edit Object page. In the IPR wizard your can associate IPR Models with your content. And, you can also define new IPR Models for successive use.

I see that my file can be downloaded and that is something that we do not want: how can we indicate that?

ECLAP Metadata

Recently a number of  contributions have been posted on the portal regarding the ECLAP metadata semantic model. See also page: "Content and Metadata Ingestion"

From ECLAP papers "
Infrastructure: ingestion and processing content and metadata" shows some metadata elements of ECLAP, like Dublin core, technical metadata and Performing arts metadata . However the meaning of the each element. What does they mean ? Are they related to geographic information for performance ? Could you please provide the information about what each metadata element describe ?

Details regarding the meaning of metadata are reported in the help during the ingestion and in the ECLAP Object Edit of Content. It is TOOL that you may find in the possible list of Actions when you edit content you uploaded only. Moreover, ECLAP accepts a large set, and potentially infinite, set of additional performing art metadata for each content item, including locations and geopositions. They can be automatically accepted/ingested during automated ingestion, see the web page on content upload and ingestion. The automated ingestion of metadata is active for ECLAP partners, contractors and affiliated. if you are interested you can read about the Affiliation from the main menu.

What elements are standard for ECLAP, since " Infrastructure: ingestion and processing content and metadata" shows a total of 57 metadata elements (page 177 ~180), while "ECLAP best practice network" points only total 36 metadata elements (page 178 ~ 180). Could you please tell me what is the standard metadata for ECLAP?

Presently, in its final ECLAP format, the number of metadata managed in ECLAP is much larger than the 57, and theoretically not limited in number. The ECLAP model is metadata agnostic since it has been designed to cope and integrate several different metadata sets, coming from several institutions. Among the whole ECLAP set only a small part of them are mandatory and/or requested during file ingestion/upload, or mandatory/automatically produced during content processing and publication (for example, duration, format, size, etc.). Moreover, most of the DC terms are also in multiple languages. And they are generated in ECLAP backoffice.

It seems " Infrastructure: ingestion and processing content and metadata" only shows some part of ECLAP performing arts metadata, not a whole set of elements. Could you provide a whole metadata set the performing arts metadata ?

Yes, it is true, the ingestion web page presents only a subset of metadata, but it is only a matter of configuration. The present Upload form is quite limited in terms of metadata, since the mostly used model for uploading them is via automated ingestion. The ECLAP model is metadata agnostic since it has been designed to cope and integrate several different metadata sets, coming from several institutions. The typical ECLAP metadata set of ECLAP is much larger and can be accessed on your uploaded content via the ECLAP metadata editor. In addition to them, you can provide any kind of additional metadata during the massive metadata ingestion process
