La Bellone, House of performing arts in Brussels

Presentation

La Bellone, House of Performing Arts, is dedicated to the live arts: theatre, dance, opera, circus, performance... Situated in the center of Brussels, the heart of La Bellone's activities is a courtyard covered by a glass roof, sheltering a baroque facade which was built at the begining of the 18th century by Jean Cosyn, builder-sculptor of the market place. Forum of the living arts, a showcase to display and highlight them, and a place of living memory, La Bellone offers permanent services, notably through its center for theatre resources; and organises events and privileged moments with the artists. La Bellone issues several publications, including the quarterly magazine Scènes, and hosts several associations linked to the performing arts.

Events

The most visible part of La Bellone, the events are intended for those impassioned by the live arts, spectators and professionals alike. Meetings, exhibitions, debates, shows, performances, conferences...presenting the riches and the diversity of the living arts, in Brussels and in French speaking Belgium as well as elsewhere. Priority is given to innovative, creative approaches and to public-minded initiatives displaying the most communal spirit. Most of the events are free, or accessible at very democratic prices.
